Storage and Bandwidth
The plan we list here, named "Shuttle", features 800 MB of storage space and 40 GB of monthly bandwidth. This is a lot! One could store more than 8,000 pictures at 100 KB each and more than 600,000 copies could be served monthly.
Even better, LunarPages does not have any restrictions on file size or daily bandwidth consumption. A lot of hosts out there do have such restrictions which can limit your website creation capabilities and can have a negative influence on user experience.

What good is to have a lot of space and bandwidth if there's nobody out there to take care of your problems?
Don't worry! This is not the case with LunarPages. They take customer care very seriously and keep hiring knowledgeable people to make sure their clients get prompt answers to their queries.
Toll Free Numbers - If you are located in the USA or Canada you can just call 1-877-LUNARPAGES for phone support. In the UK call 0800-072-9150. There's no toll free number for international customers but you can still dial 1-714-521-8150 at a regular international call rate. You will get friendly, prompt replies to your problems.
Help Desk - LunarPages uses a ticket system to track the queries that customers send through an online form. This is very effective because there are tech people always solving issues sent through the ticket system in the order they are received. The system also keeps track of all the customer's problems since the first day so they can refer to anytime in the future. Before opening an online ticket customers are advised to read up the comprehensive 'Frequently Asked Questions' section because a lot of common issues are explained there.
Email - Whether you're a customer or not you can always email LunarPages regarding any kind of questions or problems you might have. It is always a good thing to email them before creating an account in order to get specific answers to your specific needs. What we like
- You can create 15 subdomains and have 3 domain pointers at no additional charge.
- They keep their server software up to date; this includes operating system, PHP, MySQL, Perl, Apache. If you think this is no big deal you are wrong. Imagine that a new software vulnerability is discovered and your host fails to update to the new version of the software. This leaves your website open to attacks and there's not much you can do about it because chances are you don't even know about the vulnerability.
- LunarPages uses CPanel as the control panel. This is a very powerful software that allows you to customize almost anything related to your account including email accounts, databases, cron jobs, subdomains, CGI scripts and so on. It also features a powerful file manager so you can do all kinds of file operations from the control panel. The best thing is that CPanel is very user-friendly and loads very fast.
What we miss
- This plan does not include Shared SSL. This is not important for most customers but some might need it. Besides, we couldn't think of anything else to put in this section ;-)
